I made a long article about this subjective and false compare:

The site is not ready, but article is full.

Actually, it’s not an "Article". It’s just my opinion.

I am glad that my Linux Mint doesn’t slow down, even if I have a lot of programs and about 800mb free hard disk space… yeah.. that’s the point! Windows, that was slowing down was acting like it wanted to say: "remove some apps plz". But Windows also included A MESSAGE that said there’s no free space on.. yeah, usually C:.

People don’t like it, so Mint doesn’t include… BOTH. It doesn’t display any messages, that would warn you. If any of those OS, Windows or Mint had only one thing that would warn about low hard disk space, just like only message or only slowing down, it would be good. But having both things and having none of them are definetly BAAAAAAAAAAAAAD.

So I am using my Mint with about 700mb free hard disk space and have to download and save everything to my pendrive. Althought, yes…

Having none actually IS better than having both.

But it’s the best to have only one "warning"!

This is my first post. I don’t know what to put here, so I will just introduce myself.

My name is Agata, I am 13, I am from Poland (central Europe) and I am NOT a fresh Linux user.

I love IT and computers. I saw and used a first PC when I was about 4 years old. Of course, it included Windows 95. I didn’t know there’s something more than Windows, well, how could I?

I read and read IT magazines and in one “Expert” one I found a part that wasn’t hard to me. I could get it!

That part was about.. Linux. Of course. I dreamed, yes, DREAMED about seeing how one distro works on my PC, but because of my parents I could only look at screen-shots and gasp. It seemed so interesting. Why? It was different. Easy to use, but different. Those two things don’t collide.

When I grew up, I found… UBUNTU ISO FILE in one IT magazine for “n00bs”. So, I burned it, and then… I STARTED LOVING LINUX. That was exactly, yes, exactly what I was looking for.

I was fighting some nasty trojans then, and I was so happy to see: that OS was fast, included every thing I needed on one CD and it was so stable.

I couldn’t get my family to use it, so I’m on my own.

What else made me love Linux?

That I can modify it as much as I want to.

I loved to see the ease of changing “themes” and modifying them.

And, maybe it sounds so weird to you, but I also loved it for it’s console…

Typing commands, oh, so fun… I enjoyed learing the commands!

What now? I just use it. And every day I find something new in Linux. Sometimes I help some “freshies”, for example, when they can’t mount Windows disk because of unclean shutdown. :)

I am happy with Linux. If you don’t like Linux and/or prefer another OS or even distro, it’s your choice. Do whatever you want to do.
